Wednesday, April 5 from 4-6pm in the Craft Center

Stop in the Craft Center to meet staff and instructors. Ask questions, see some demos and take a tour of the Craft Center. 

 

Mandala Mondays

Every Monday from April 10-June 5, 1-3pm in the Craft Center

Lower your stress while you create something beautiful…adult coloring is trending and super relaxing!  Hand-color a Mandala design or create your own with colored pencils & markers. FREE and open to all OSU students, faculty & staff. Sponsored by the OSU Craft Center and Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS)

 

Watercolor Wellness Wednesdays

OSU Rocks! Thoughtful Thursdays

Every Thursday from April 13-June 8, 1-3pm in the Craft Center

Join our campaign to spread a little art & good cheer around campus. Paint rocks with affirmative words or images. Supplies provided.

Spring Family Weekend Special Events For OSU Students & Their Weekend Guests

Registration for workshops (not drop in activities) must be done in person at the Craft Center during open operating hours. The Craft Center cannot take reservations over email or telephone. Payment in the form of cash, check or charge for the workshops will be required at the time of sign up in order to reserve a spot in the class. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Recycled Stained Glass Sun Catcher*

M.Hinds & M. Babel         Fee: $15

OSU students and their weekend guests will make a simply lovely glass sun catcher using copper foiling technique. All supplies are provided and you will leave with a finished sun catcher to hang in your window. This class is an excellent introduction to creating with stained glass and learning how to cut glass.

 

Bead Workshop*

Saturday May 6

OSU Student and their weekend guests will learn some of the basic techniques used in modern soft-glass beadmaking. The focus will be on flame shop safety, bead creation & shaping! Torches, equipment and all supplies are provided and you will leave with several glass items. Wear cotton or natural fiber clothing and closed-toe shoes.

 

Fused Glass Magnet Workshop*

OSU Students and their weekend guests will learn some of the basic techniques used in glass fusing as you create a uniquely designed fused glass piece that can be made into a sweet magnet or brooch. All supplies are provided.

 

Fam-n-me Beaver Believer Grocery Totes*

This 3-hour class will allow OSU students & their adult weekend guests to make their own washable reusable canvas grocery bags. All materials provided, all you have to do is come prepared to learn and have fun. This class is for all experience levels. At the end of the class you and your family member will each have reusable grocery tote & good memories of time spent together!

 

Make A Silver Ring Workshop*

Angela Ajootian     Fee: $35

Come to this 4-hour workshop and learn how to make a handcrafted silver ring. No prior experience needed. We will cut, shape, solder, and polish a simple ring. Students with prior experience can use this class to make something more elaborate. All will come away with a beautiful gift. All supplies provided.In this one day workshop you can finish a set of 6 items perfect do distribute to friends or give to one special person. You can chose to make a series of colorful enameled wine glass tags, small pendants, or enameled neodymium magnets. All materials provided and no experience needed. materials. Students can purchase silver, PMC & other items from the Craft Center supply store or provide their own.

 

 

Handmade Coffee Mug Workshop*

Sunday May 7

Rachel Kirby            Fee: $30 per person/$50 per pair

OSU Students & their weekend guests will spend the afternoon creating unique textures for surface decoration by carving their own rubber block to stamp clay with.  Then complete either a mug or a pencil holder using the rubber block design.  Great way to try out hand building if you've never had the chance!"
