Fall Into Service took place on Saturday September 23, 2017!

Start the academic year engaged in your community. Fall into Service! Join us to learn about and contribute to organizations that are doing great work to strengthen our local community while building connections with others at OSU. Bond, learn, serve!

This year, 79 volunteers participated in 6 different projects for a total of 228 service hours! Please find a summary of the projects below:

Produce for the People – Garden Work Party: Over 10 pounds of potatoes harvested, 6 rows of garden mulched, compost turned, pruned sunflowers, weeding completed

SAGE Garden – Set up fundraising dinner, which raises around $6,000+ for SAGE. It is their largest event of the year

Benton Habitat for Humanity – Work with Habitat for Humanity to Improve the Men’s Cold Weather Shelter: Shelter walls had oriented strand board (OSB) board removed, giant workbench/shelving unit was removed from walls, walls were painted with primer, doors were removed, demolition and framing was done for new doors, both garage doors were framed out, general sweeping/cobweb removal/cleaning, sheetrock removal

Corvallis Parks and RecreationBald Hill Path Construction: Dug 150 feet of trenches for rainwater run-off, laid 50 ft of rock and gravel to extend hiking path

Heartland Humane Society – Craft ‘N Care: 48 dog bandanas made, ~120 catnip toys made

Meals on Wheels – Craft ‘N Care: 40 meal delivery bags and 50 placemats decorated
