The Global Community Kitchen enhances campus programming by partnering with students to utilize food for cultural sharing, learning and community building. The program provides advising, resources and support in the planning, development and serving of food as the focus or a component of programming. The GCK event support team will be an integral part of the successful support of student organization activities including the execution of food service and kitchen clean-up. Duties include managing ticket sales and access, conducting activity assessment, serving food, and activity, kitchen clean-up, etc.

The Global Community Kitchen enhances campus programming by partnering with students to utilize food for cultural sharing, learning and community building. The program provides advising, resources and support in the planning, development and serving of food as the focus or a component of programming. Global Community Assistants play an integral role in the success of executing production, serving and cleaning aspect of food service. Duties may include facilitating relationships with students and student organizations, assisting in the management of the kitchen, maintaining food service sanitation and safety guidelines, and serving as a peer advisor to promote the program and educate the student population about the GCK.

Civic Engagement & Leadership engages students in experiential and community-based learning to advance self-development and leadership for collective social action and change. The Program Specialists serve an integral role in the promotion and advancement of the Civic Engagement & Leadership’s mission. The position’s main responsibilities may include planning events, meeting with community partners, advising students/peers, and developing educational programs for students at OSU. In this position, students should learn how to solve complex problems, how to communicate verbally and in writing, how to work as a member of a team, and a greater understanding of justice and social responsibility.

After the Full Consideration date, applicants will be accepted until the next hiring cycle in Spring of 2020, and interviews will be offered to meet hiring demands throughout the academic year.
