The CCE celebrates two days of service each term as well as a variety of smaller service events throughout the year. Fall days of service are Fall Into Service and Make a Difference Day, winter days are Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service and Animal Action Day, and spring days are Earth Day and Day of Caring. Read about these days below! Animal Action Day
  • WHEN: March 2nd, 8:30AM-11AM
  • WHERE: Craft Center, Student Experience Center
  • Students will be decorating Bandanas for Shelter animals at the Safe Haven Humane Society as well as creating cat toys for Heartland Humane Society!
  • "Our mission is finding homes…opening hearts…educating minds to strengthen and improve the lives of animals and people.

  • WHERE: Lighthouse Farm Sanctuary
  • We will be volunteering, doing whatever work needs to be done at this sanctuary for farmed animals, and then we will be munchin' on some good vegan grub, and hanging out!

  • WHERE: Riverfront Park
  • We'll be resurfacing one of the most popular dog-run-free parks in Corvallis, there's a lot of wood chips that need spreading to improve the footing throughout the park! This is much appreciated by the park users and their dogs.
  • "Corvallis Parks and Recreation preserves and creates a community heritage with places and programs for enhancing life quality."

  • WHERE: Chintimini Wildlife Center
  • We will be outside working on winter landscaping work around the Chintimini Property!
  • "Chintimini provides care for injured and orphaned wildlife, with the goal of returning them to their natural habitat and fosters a connection between people and wildlife through education."

  • WHERE: Willamette Humane Society
  • We will be outside working on a variety of maintenance tasks around the Willamette Humane Society!

This day of service kicks off the OSU Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration and is the largest of the CCE's days of service. Join us in honor of MLK and then check out all the other great celebration events and awards taking place the following week.


Animal Action Day

Part of Civic Engagement Week, this day of service is all about supporting our animal friends! We hold service projects with local humane societies and other animal rescues. Get your pet therapy in with us in March.

Celebrate our planet with us every spring through service! We hold a variety of environmentally-focused projects focusing on both conservation and restoration. We share our event data with SOLVE who report on the amazing Earth Day work completed across the state.

In partnership with the United Way of Benton and Lincoln Counties and the OSU Alumni Association's OSU Community Day of Service, we know that #BeaversGiveBack. Day of Caring was established by United Way in 1992 to promote the spirit and value of volunteerism.
