Position: DAM Jam Video Crew

 

Overview

The Dam Jam Video crew will operate cameras, switcher, and graphics computer and work as production assistants for Dam Jam 2019 (May 31, 2019). The team is responsible for operating equipment in order to send video to video monitor for audience in Reser Stadium.

 

Qualifications:

  • Previously trained through OMN or OSU Athletics on live video equipment, including cameras, switcher, cables, and/or graphics
  • Previous production experience on KBVR-TV/OMN live video productions
  • Meets university eligibility requirements, including but not limited to:
    • Must be a currently enrolled studet at Oregon State University for at least 6 academic credits
    • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.0
    • Must remain in a good academic standing from the term prior to selection and during the entire period of employment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous live video production experience with OSU Athletics
  • Previous experience on Dam Jam Video Production team

 

Requirements

  • Each role is required to work at the Dam Jam concern event from 2 p.m. on May 31 to 12:30 a.m. on June 1, with a break.
    • Crew call will be strictly enforced at 2 p.m. Failure to show up on time could result in being removed from crew, at discretion of OSU Athletics Video Staff and/or OMN Professional Staff.
  • Roles will be determined by OMN Professional staff based on experience/expertise. Crew members may be asked to rotate positions throughout the shift.
  • Positions needed are:
    • (4) Camera operators
    • Director
    • Graphics
    • (2) Production assistants
  • Work will take place both outdoors in Reser Stadium and in the Reser Stadium video control room. Plan on dressing appropriately for the weather and the work.
  • Operate broadcast TV equipment, including cameras, switcher, and graphics system, capturing the live Dam Jam performances to feed video board for Dam Jam Audience at Reser Stadium.
  • Ensure cameras are focused, balanced, shots are well-framed, and follow directions from the show director
  • Direct the live video feed, including selecting/taking shots and calling for graphics.
  • Check all graphics for misspellings or mistakes, fixing all mistakes prior to show.
  • Ensure graphics are placed onscreen and taken down at appropriate times.
  • Set up and take down all video equipment and supplies, including cameras, intercoms, stands, cables and others.
  • Help transport equipment to and from setup area. (May need to lift up to 50 lbs).
  • Report directly to OSU Athletics Video staff and OMN Professional Staff on scene.
  • Must stay until dismissed by OSU Athletics Video staff
  • Must act professionally at all times, including all breaks. Professionally represent Orange Media Network.
  • Prioritize safety of self, others, and equipment.
  • Report any problems to professional staff immediately.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively during the production via headset, phone and in person
  • Any unprofessional or unsafe behavior will be grounds for immediate dismissal from the production.

Pay Rate: 11.50/hour
