OMN offers several trainings to help you hone your storytelling skills and navigate journalism and the media industry. All OMN trainings are free and open to all students. Advance registration is required for most trainings. Registration links are listed below within the workshop descriptions.

Calling all art lovers! Come to the Prism Journal launch party to meet this issue’s artists, view their work, and have them sign your copy of the newest journal! We'll have snacks, fun activities and more in addition to the opportunity to meet the artists.
Prism Journal is OSU’s quarterly art and literary journal welcomes submissions from all OSU students in the form of photography, illustrations, poetry, and more. The printed journal is produced by students and prints three issues per year, available for free on racks around campus. Want to know how you can write a news lede and build an engaging news story? Jennifer Moody, OMN journalism adviser, will be holding a short workshop on crafting an effective lede and nut graf. Moody will work with students on how to determine the news value of a piece, build a lede from it, and structure the rest of the story from that starting point. This session is free and open to all OSU students.

In this course, you will learn about the power of free speech and how to use media to create works that matters to your audience, keep them engaged, challenge their thinking and change the world. Whether you are writing, shooting video, or hosting a radio show, this workshop will help you enhance your skills. This session is free and open to all OSU students, but registration is required to participate.
